Description
The Inspector Cluzo-CD1
Our first album released in 2008 followed the first 4 track album released a few months earlier, which included the songs "Two Days", "F.the Bass Player", "Mad" & "Do you Make It Right". This first album and 4 track album was recorded in the countryside in the house of our (at the time trainee at Ter à Terre) Pierre Wagner. Our old friend Stéphane Kraemer, was going to mix the whole thing at the Jet Studios in Brussels. At the end of Wolfunkind, we decided to continue playing music together, for fun, starting with a bass player who will not even finish the first rehearsals. We decided to play together, but without any tricks, without computer or tapes to hide the lack of bass or orchestration. The foundations of our sound were laid. We had to be creative and 100% organic. We had no idea how we were going to do it, but this constraint, which we never strayed from, would guide and dictate the rules of our career. Very quickly we will opt for specific tunings on the guitars well known in the blues "open-tuning" which was going to considerably make evolve Laurent's play, towards a kind of mix of bass-guitar play at the same time. To this, a game much more based on percussion and the management of the void for Mathieu. The voice would be our 3rd instrument. On these rules, we were going to compose some of the songs which will always follow us in live "F the bass player", "Two days", "The Inspector clu The Inspector Cluzo". Angelo Moore from Fishbone, singing with us on the intro track The Inspector Cluzo. Indeed Angelo is the one who came up with our band name... kind of spiritual Godfather for the band and of course the funny contribution of Norwood Fisher (Fishbone) on "F. the bass player". Never when we recorded it for passion and pleasure did we think that we were at the beginning of an incredible adventure that has lasted for 12 years and would bring us to the 4 corners of the world thanks to just this music and its... creative constraints. The first concert took place on April 8th 2008 in Glasgow @KingTut's in support of Fishbone...This album allowed us to go directly to Japan, to the prestigious FUJI ROCK 2008(quite a few videos on the net), to the Pentaport festival in South Korea, to the Bluesfest in Australia and in France, our first two festivals, to the Rock dans tous ces Etats in Evreux and to the Eurockeennes in Belfort... Our label was bound to be called F THE BASS PLAYER RECORDS forever...
